CCA Mother's & Others Meeting

C.C.A. Mother's (& Others) Assoc. will have a meeting on Monday, April 23rd, at 6:30 p.m. at the elementary school. Please try to be there. We have a lot to plan for our upcoming 35th celebration. If you are unable to attend the meeting but will be available to help at the event, please contact Vickie Sasser at vickiesasser177@gmail.com. Our May meeting will be on Tuesday, May 15th, 6:30 p.m. at the elementary school. That will be our last meeting of the school year and we will elect new officers.

CCA Elementary Play

Congratulations on a great performance tonight from the students of CCA. There will be an encore performance tomorrow, Wednesday, 1 p.m. at Highest Praise. Many thanks to Mrs. Williamson for heading up the program and all the faculty, staff, students and parents that got involved to make this a play we will always remember.

Important Announcement

Two meetings were held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 28. One of the meetings was at the Missionary Alliance Church and another at Waccamaw Academy. The following information was released at those meetings.

The combined Board of Elders and the Governing Board of the Missionary Alliance Church have met repeatedly over the last couple of weeks to consider an unsolicited offer from the Board of Directors of Waccamaw Academy. Their board reached the conclusion that they did not have the resources to continue the school. Without a cash infusion, they would not even be able to complete this school year. They have received another offer to purchase their buildings and land. The Waccamaw Academy Board of Directors decided that their students would have a better option in selecting a school for next year if they sold to CCA rather than to accept the other offer. So, they offered to sell their facilities to us at substantially less than the fair market value.

The Waccamaw Academy classroom building is approximately twice the size of the CCA High School building. Their gym is large enough for volleyball/basketball games with spectator seating. CCA High School property consists of 9 acres. Waccamaw Academy buildings sit on 29 acres. They have offered to sell to us for $480,000. Our boards have made an official offer to purchase and it has been accepted.

There are three contingencies in our offer:

Suitable financing must be obtained.
The South Atlantic District of the Christian and Missionary Alliance must approve the purchase.
The Missionary Alliance Church congregation must approve the indebtedness.

There is a sovereign God in the universe. If it is His plan that we purchase and use the buildings and land, then He will work out these contingencies. If it is not His plan, we don’t want it anyway. Please pray that God will clearly show His will by resolving or clearly NOT resolving these issues.

Congratulations to the Boys JV and Varsity Basketball teams for putting up a tremendous effort in the tournament finals. They placed second in the conference.

Thanks to ALL who helped with our annual yard sale this year. We had so much fun and raised money to better our school. Again, thanks to all who donated, helped sort, sell, cook, clean, purchased from us or even if you just prayed for us, we are grateful.

The Mother's (& Others) Association will not have a November meeting.

We will participate in the Whiteville Christmas Parade again this year. The first Sunday in December. Look for your memo to go home with the students. All who wish to help please contact Vickie Sasser at

Mother's (& Others) Association Meeting

Our next Mother's (& Others) Association meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, October 25th @ 6:30 p.m. at the elementary school. Please plan to attend. Our main topic on the agenda at this meeting will be our Yard Sale, planned for Sat., Nov. 5th, at Missionary Alliance Church. Donation drop-off days will be 10/24-11/04. We need volunteers for sorting and pricing as well as the morning of the sale. This is a great opportunity to meet other CCA parents!!
